The pattern is getting clearer -the undeniable pattern -Kim Hyun Joong is no longer having fan meets,concerts ,TV program guestings and show performances, he is having his own brand of a show like no other.
For now he is the main focus of his show, stretching to how far his talents can go, experimenting with different genres and formats, formula both novel and unique. Like adding new steps to make his dance music fresh and new.Or putting an entirely different dance to his other familiar numbers like what he did when he became King Of Pirates in the Mnet Special in 2011 featuring Breakdown. Or dancing to the latin beats when everyone else seems to be doing other steps at the MAMA Music Awards in 2011. Who can forget how he danced on the street where the red carpet had been laid and went up the stage to dance with the models of Style Icon Show. Or the numbers when he collaborated with other performers in other end of the year music festivals.His show carry a unique recognition where his personality and charm is most felt. And yet in his recent show he brought in members of his immediate family Art and Matic, introducing them to the audience and to show tricks. How endearing-man and his best friends now doing the show.
But actually what is striking now is the image of the man who truly loves what he is doing, not working to deliver perfect music numbers in three minutes or so but enjoying even minute of it that counts. You can say for every drop of sweat a sweet victory. Through this he has found a higher level of confidence, the natural self with free flowing rapport with the audience.
And yet he is unpredictable now -you’ll never know what you are going to get in his show.The only thing usual is he comes on time for his show. His show offers a different world for about 2 hours, its audience mesmerized and absorbed. If it is said the man offers variety in his show, that will be an understament. What you will be in is the Kim Hyun Joong Magic Kingdom where he rules. Ask the 6,000 fans that attended his recent fanmeet in Seoul for their experience.
When he lets you in his show, he welcomes you to his heart. Kind of ironic because you are in his show but that it is not for show -for his sincerity and how he values you the audience shines true. He performs for you and for you alone. And yet though he must have felt in cloud nine with his audience response his feet remained firmly on the ground and not letting his unbelievable popularity go to his head.
At his recent show he did not merely wave to say goodbye but knelt down to acknowledge the fact that he is the Kim Hyun Joong today he owes it to you,to us. And gave the promise to be even a better solo performer and repay what he had recieved.
