Kim Hyun Joong‘s album has been certified Gold in Japan. According to the January million single/album list released by the Recording Industry Association of Japan on the 10th, Kim Hyun Joong’s Japanese debut single, ‘Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy’ has been certified Gold. The Recording Industry Association of Japan accredits ‘Gold’ certification to albums that sell over 100k copies. With his Gold certification Kim Hyun Joong is making news together with Kara, the group has reached Triple Platinum on the same day. The Gold certification is even more impressive when you consider the fact that the feat has been achieved in just two weeks.
Kim Hyun Joong has sold 71,812 copies of his album on the day of its release, it was ranked #2 on the Oricon Daily chart on the same day, and it continues to sell very well. Kim Hyun Joong has kicked off his Japanese promotion with record setting numbers since last month. Kim Hyun Joong has sold most albums ever by a debuting foreign artist, since the inception of Oricon Weekly chart on March of 2009. 会場がグリーンとブルーのペンライトで埋め尽くされるなか、愛称の「リーダー」コールに迎えられて登場したヒョンジュンは、日本デビュー曲「KISS KISS／Lucky Guy」（1月25日発売）が初週10.0万枚を売り上げ、初登場2位を獲得したことに対し「僕は新人なのにいい結果を残せて、皆さん本当にありがとうご ざいます」と日本語で感謝。「6万人が（このライブに）応募してくれて全員とお会いできないのは残念ですが、ここにいる人、おめでとうございます！」と呼 びかけて照れ笑いした。
ライブ中には、CMで共演した中村アン、フットサル仲間のナオト・インティライミからビデオメッセージが紹介されたほか、ヒョンジュンが義援金を寄付し た福島県南相馬市のよつば保育園の園児から感謝のメッセージも。園児たちの元気いっぱいな姿に笑顔をみせながら「少しでも勇気づけられたなら嬉しいです。 皆さんも余裕ができたら、子どもたちのために力を尽くしてあげてください」と呼びかけていた。
デビュー作を購入した応募者の中から昼夜2回公演合計2万人を招待して行われたライブでは、日本デビュー曲のほか「Let Me Go」「Break Down」「One More Time」などダンスナンバーとバラードを織りまぜ、全13曲を披露。先月27日に早くも『ミュージックステーション』（テレビ朝日系）に初出演したヒョ ンジュンは「新しい目標を立てなければいけないと思いました。できれば東京ドームまでいけたら」と意欲を語り、場内から大歓声と拍手が沸き起こった。
