Kim Hyun Joong has ranked number 1 on the Japan Oricon Weekly Chart.
On July 4, Kim Hyun Joong released his second Japanese single, HEAT, and sold over 140,000 copies and ranked number 1 on the Oricon Daily Chart and sold over 183,000 copies in the first week.
Compared to his debut album, KISS KISS/Lucky Guy, from January, which sold 122,000 copies in the first week, he has beat his record with this year's sales.
Music officials stated, "In a span of just a couple months, his music has improved drastically," giving him much praise.
Also, this will be his fifth hit song for a solo artist to reach number 1 on a foreign country's music chart. The number of albums he sold in the first week is ranked 3rd place of all time.
On July 2, he began his promotions for his single, HEAT, with show programs, interviews, hand-shaking events and concerts. He has become one of the top artists who are bringing the K-Pop craze to another level.
On July 3 and 7, he held a fan hand-shaking event with over 5,000 fans. He also held a surprise performance on July 4 and 8 in places such as Odaiba and Nagoya.
Kim Hyun Joong will be holding a free live concert for his second single on July 14 and 15 at the Saitama Super Arena.
